Code AnubisTM ("we", "us") provides Anubis, a local-first software tool that intercepts AI coding agent responses and detects potential hallucinations before they reach your code. Anubis runs locally on your machine as a proxy daemon.
Your license key is valid for the number of machines specified in your tier. You may transfer a license between machines by deactivating one and activating another via the account page.
Sharing, publishing, or reselling license keys is prohibited. We reserve the right to revoke licenses used in violation of these terms.
Monthly and annual subscription licenses require periodic online check-in. The Anubis app must successfully validate the license key against our license server at least once every 7 days. If the app does not check in within any 7-day window (e.g., because the device was offline), the license is automatically marked as invalid and the app will not function until the next successful check-in.
Check-in happens automatically when the device has internet access — no user action required. The app re-validates the license on each connection and silently extends the 7-day window. If your workflow requires extended offline use (more than 7 consecutive days), purchase an Offline license instead — Offline licenses are exempt from the check-in requirement and function fully offline indefinitely.
This requirement exists to detect revoked, refunded, or canceled subscriptions in a timely manner. Without it, a subscription canceled by the user or refunded under the 14-day window could continue operating indefinitely on an offline device.
Monthly and Annual subscriptions can be cancelled at any time via the account page with one click. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
If you are an individual consumer in the European Union (or UK), you have a statutory right to withdraw from this purchase within 14 days without giving any reason. The 14-day period starts the day after your purchase is completed.
This right expires once you activate your license key in the Code AnubisTM desktop app. Code AnubisTM is digital content delivered electronically; activation starts delivery of the content with your consent, after which the digital content cannot be "returned."
If you have not activated your license key, you may exercise your withdrawal right by emailing support@codeanubis.com within 14 days of purchase. Refunds are processed by Paddle as Merchant of Record.
Before completing checkout, you will be asked to expressly consent to Code AnubisTM delivering the digital content immediately — before the end of the 14-day withdrawal period — and to acknowledge that this consent causes your statutory right of withdrawal to expire upon license activation. This consent is recorded separately from the purchase action (not combined with the "Pay" button) and stored as a durable record in our systems (timestamp, IP address, consent text version).
For Offline licenses (digital content as defined under Art. 2(11) of Directive 2011/83/EU), this waiver is fully effective under Art. 16(m) and §356 Abs. 5 BGB.
For subscription licenses (which may be classified as a digital service rather than digital content under CJEU C-234/25 Sky Österreich), Code AnubisTM reserves the right to apply the same activation-based expiry. If a competent court or authority determines that the waiver does not apply to your specific subscription, we will honor a valid statutory withdrawal request on a case-by-case basis — contact support@codeanubis.com with your order details. This clause preserves our right to deny abusive refund requests (e.g., refund farming across multiple accounts) while ensuring genuine consumer-protection claims are addressed.
For business customers and consumers outside the EU/UK, we offer a voluntary 14-day money-back guarantee on first-time purchases. This guarantee expires upon license activation. If you have not activated your license, contact support@codeanubis.com within 14 days for a full refund.
If you switch between Monthly and Annual subscriptions:
Your license key does not change. The new tier unlocks on the next app restart.
Subscription renewals are not eligible for the 14-day guarantee beyond the conditions above. You can cancel at any time via the account page (EU Omnibus Directive, FTC Click-to-Cancel Rule, CA AB 2863 compliant) and retain access through the end of the current billing period.
Anubis is a diagnostic tool that flags potential hallucinations. It may produce false positives (flagging correct code) or false negatives (missing hallucinated code). You remain responsible for reviewing all AI-generated code before shipping. Anubis does not guarantee code correctness.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Code AnubisTM is not liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use Anubis, including but not limited to lost productivity, corrupted code, or decisions made based on Anubis's output.

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
These terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Disputes are resolved in the courts of Germany.
